ITC Investigates Samsung Flash Memory in BlackBerry, iPhone

The U.S. International Trade Commission is pickings a finale looking at flash memory made by Samsung and used in popular handsets like the iPhone and BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) after BTG International claimed patent infringement. The memory board chips in doubt are used in a wide variety of gadgets, including USB sticks, camcorders and MP3 players. These sort of investigations usually come with a draw of talk about modification imports and stopping the sale of products containing the offending engineering, but the complaints usually get settled either by defense or licensing before remainder users yield the brunt of any legal revenge.
