Google Fast Flip Eases News Reading on Android and iPhone

Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has just announced a new summation to the labs, called Fast Flip, which is essentially a news hunt for your iPhone or Android web browser that lets you casually swipe through stories. Unfortunately, the overhaul is currently limited to a few major publications, like the New York Times, Newsweek, and the Washington C. W. Post, but that’s a pretty nice start right out the gates. You can pick particular topics, the top stories, or hunt for your own interests. On the G1, I found it a little chunky, but it’s still impressive that Google’s able to do something like this in the web browser alone, as opposed to launching a offprint mobile app. To spring it a attempt for yourself, head over to fastflip.googlelabs.com in your mobile web browser.

If you’re exploitation a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm and cursing the lack of Fast Flip support, checkout out Viigo – they use the same gestures for skimming through stories in your RSS feeds.
