Two-Way GMail Sync for BlackBerry En Route

A few weeks ago, RIM released a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) hack-in that added quite a few functions to Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Mail on the gimmick, including stars, archiving, and labels, but still only pushed updates from earphone to overhaul rather than support true two-way sync. Fortunately, some sharp eyes have spotted a endorsement in the latest BlackBerry Connection newsletter, stating “2-means synchronisation is expected to be implemented in the near future”. Although it’s mostly an aside with no honorable mention of a timeline, it’s distillery great to get the committal, and when combined with the existing Google Sync app, GMail becomes a great alternative for those without enterprise synchronisation.
