Another quick fiddle, another device tried out and ready to be reported on…
The Sony Ericsson (New York Stock Exchange: SNE) Satio is the recently-released touchscreen beast from Sony Ericsson, backpacking a 12.1MP camera! Wowzer, that is some serious image-processing power! I recently got my hands on I, and walked away with these impressions (bear in mind the idea here is first base impressions from a few mins of playing with the twist):
Build quality &ere; shape-factor – boilers suit it’s nice, very nice. Comes across much more like a photographic camera than a mobile twist, even down to a excrescence where the optics for the camera ar. The twist feels about the right field sort of weight for it’s size, and definitely feels like quality Screen – it’s a good size, the colours and sharpness ar great, and it works fountainhead as a touching device. Checked out some wallpapers and videos, and they all looked good UI – seems pretty reasonable boilers suit. The manipulation of the horizontal UI bar (XMB as they call option it) works well, and breeds indecorum for Sony Blu-re player or PS3 owners. Logical and easy to navigate Camera – only had a very legal brief time to try, and obviously results were organism rendered on the screen (so couldn’t check-out procedure amercement detail of images), but on first inspection worked well, and great calibre. I curiosity about how quick/easy it is to offload the massive files (fountainhead, compared to the files generated by most mobile cameras) – anyway, at least image capture is good. Media-manipulation – very good – it’s a multimedia system device, and needed to do well here, and it performed admirably. As noted above, videos looked good. Would wealthy person like to have captured a video recording to see how that came out on-blind. Conclusion: *satire alert* – I was going away to say it was a great French telephone, but clearly it tin can’t be that great, as Sony Ericsson pulled it from the shelves. I didn’t get any software system problems at all whilst exploitation the device, that being said. Overall evaluation: Pretty reasonable Grade: B (based on my shortstop metre with it) Build quality &ere; shape-factor – overall it’s nice, very nice.
