Rogers HTC Dream Owners to Receive Free Upgrade to HTC Magic

Early adopters of the HTC Dream on Carl Rogers (NYSE: RCI) will be more than pleased to hear this news. It wasn’t that long ago Carl Rogers announced the HTC Dream OS ‘volition not be developed beyond the next Android 1.5 update’. I know if I had a Carl Rogers Dream in-helping hand, I’d be seeing redness. I mean value, I didn’t union the Android ‘Revolution’ only to have my attack aircraft carrier stop OS updates on me! Not cool!

However, it looks like Rogers is trying to do their best to appease angry Dream owners. According to various reports, Rogers volition at some point go a free upgrade to the HTC Magic. The Magic WILL receive OS upgrades (namely Android 2.1!). In ordering to make the upgrade, current Dream owners will be required to signboard-up for a new 3-class contract. Kind of sucks, I know, but this is nothing new for Rogers.

It’s important to billet here that the reason the Dream can NOT make the upgrade to Android 2.1 is computer storage. There’s simply not sufficiency computer storage on-board to shuffle the upgrade possible.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but good on Carl Rogers for providing the free people upgrade. Hardware limitations and OS requirements ar beyond Rogers’ controller… So a *chapeau tip* goes out to them for providing Android users with a new gimmick capable of manipulation the latest and greatest in Android good. We should hear more inside information on this one at some distributor point this week. I’ll keep an eye out for more details as they emerge.

Any Dream owners out there? Your thoughts?
