Looks like AT&T is retention their word when it comes to changing things around. As we reported earlier, the second base largest wireless attack aircraft carrier is cleaning theater, tagging a new “Rethink Possible” slogan, and getting a new colour scheme. Apparently in the midst of all that, though, they’re also leaving to change the way they do their advertisements. Seeing as the currently tally anti-Verizon hunting expedition has cost the troupe a reported billions of dollars, we tin see why they’d wish to stop.

The new TV musca volitans should direction more on the features of the wireless troupe as a whole, and not direction on the deficiencies of their largest competitor. Meaning, you’ll see more commercials that consist of people talk and surfing the Net at the same time, and you’ll also get to see some mobile TV (MobiTV) in the deeds, too. It’s all leaving towards that “Rethink Possible” missionary work financial statement, and we’re just glad that Luke Wilson probably isn’t leaving to continue along for the ride.

As for Verizon, they’ve got some business ad in the deeds, but they’re not going to stopover working on those anti-AT&ere;T advertisements in the slightest. In fact, they plan to create new “There’s a Map for That” ads, striking tomb blows at the minimal 3G footprint AT&ere;T currently supplies to its customers. It’s goodness to see one troupe sticking to their shipway, piece another tries something different. The big doubtfulness will be: which methodological analysis will prevail?

The iPhone and iPhone 3G are only capable of barely-HD 480i video recording-out resolutions, devising it woefully inadequate for playing backrest movies or TV shows on large TVs and pretty much any decent computer monitor lizard. But, that’s all about to change with the upcoming launch of the third base-multiplication iPhone. Reports of an upcoming Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) AV Cable confirm that future iPhone and iPod Touch hardware will be capable of playing back full-HD video at 720p and 1080i resolutions!

Phone<a href='http://a-cell-phone.com/2009/09/21/review_of_lg_s_see_through_gd900_crystal_review.html’ title=’Review of LG’s see-through GD900 Crystal review’>News is reporting that Apple has advised its Apple Authorized Resellers to beginning clearing out any remaining Composite AV Cable and Apple Component AV Cable livestock. The move is aimed at cutting down feather inventorying ahead of the introduction of Apple’s new Apple AV Cable, which consolidates the functions of both the Composite and Component AV iPhone-cables.

Apple is also apparently look to switch focusing from the Apple TV to the iPhone. By endowing the iPhone lineup with true HD-output, Apple volition be look to redefine the iPhone as the most convenient way to bring digital media to the TV screen. The future iPhone will be able to playback HD videos from its on-board library of videos, but volition also be able to flow videos over your radio dwelling-net. The iPhone volition connect to your computing machine’s iTunes depository library over WiFi and flow videos to your TV over the Apple AV Cable, essentially acting as an Apple TV. And, because the iPhone streams videos from your computing machine, you have almost limitless storage mental ability for HD videos!

Streaming-video recording iPhone applications like TV.com and the upcoming Hulu iPhone app may spring the iPhone even greater appealingness as a media-hub of sorts. We’ll no doubt see full-HD streaming video advent online soon enough, and when that happens, the iPhone volition be waiting to flow all that “HDelicious” subject to your big-screen TV.

It’s not open when the Apple AV Cable will become available, but we’re not likely to see it before the functionary launching of the new iPhone (or iPhones). We’ll likely know more in June.

id Software’s Gospel According to John Carmack has recently confirmed that the gaming company’s legendary claim, Orcs &ere; Elves, is in exploitation for the iPhone. Not much is known at this leg, except that we’ll see the game hitting the AppStore near the remainder of the year — actually, Carmack said he’ll start serious employment on the game before class’s end, and since we think he’s a smarting guy cable, it wouldn’t take too long after he’s involved.

Moreover, we’ve heard Orcs &ere; Elves for iPhone will be based on the Nintendo DS variant of the biz, but with updated artwork and new content. In summation and as expected, the game controls volition be changed to reflect the “touch world” of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The sad newsworthiness is that we rich person to wait for at least few more months. The reason for this is apparent deficiency of personnel department within id Software, and the exploitation itself had begun later than expected. Hopefully, once released, it will be a well worth waited titled. Can’t waiting.

We knew the iPhone was acquiring support for MMS (painting messaging) from AT&T (NYSE: T) sometime this month. We’re not leaving to dwell on the fact that other iPhone carriers around the world have already been playing with MMS on the iPhone for some meter. What’s important here is that AT&ere;T has finally stamped an official launch appointment for the liberation of their iPhone MMS service. That date, is Sep 25. Gospel According to Mark it down feather in your calendar.

Just the other day we posted a rumor that iPhone OS 3.1 might be launching sometime around DoL Clarence Day, and with it, some officially functionary iPhone AR apps and possibly MMS support. With AT&T’s iPhone MMS overhaul slated to go live the week after next, it’s unclear if iPhone 3.1 will be pushed out next week. We still are expecting to see at least one AR app hit the AppStore around Labor Clarence Day, so take that for what it’s worth.

For now, we’ll just be happy with confirmed dates for AT&ere;T MMS on the iPhone. Come September 25, we’ll be celebrating MMS functionality by sending out a single MMS and then proceed to never touching MMS again.

iPhone accounts for nearly all handheld wireless local area network hotspot approach in US! 1 Comment

By Will Mungo Park on Monday, Aug 31st, 2009 at 11:15 AM PST Edit this entrance. In <a href='http://a-cell-phone.com/2009/08/27/new_yahoo_mobile_river_app_helps_you_arrest_connected_.html' title='New Yahoo! Mobile River app 'helps you arrest connected''>Apple, Mobile Web, Research, iPhone, iPhone OS

Now here’s an interesting little factoid gleaned from a new inquiry reputation from JiWire. It seems that, when it comes to connecting handheld mobile devices, coffeehouse WiFi hostpots across the US service darn near all of their wireless bits and bytes to the iPhone OS. The iPhone OS (which runs on the iPhone and iPod Touch) accounts for 97.6% of all handheld devices logged onto wireless local area network hotspots tracked by JiWire – 54.2% use the iPhone and 43.4% ar using the iPod Touch.

Taking the iPod Touch out of the equation for a moment, it’s interesting to see just how far ahead of other devices the iPhone stands – more than one-half of all mobile devices using coffeehouse WiFi ar iPhones. The closest competing French telephone in terms of coffeehouse wireless local area network hot spot market share is the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95. In fact, the Sony PSP is the second most used handheld device at these WiFi hotspots.

One means to look at the information is that the iPhone makes web browsing so easy that users ar more likely to record hop on the information expressway for a quick least sandpiper. It also helps that all iPhone users are presumption free access to WiFi hotspots at Starbucks and Barnes &ere; Noble stores in the US.

Here’s our return: iPhone users lovemaking coffeehouse wireless local area network hotspots.
