There’s some good and bad news if you’re that poor son of gripe who lost the next-multiplication iPhone in a bar. The badness news is that you’re Internet famous for all the wrong reasons, your career may be screwed and Steve Jobs will likely demand a hammer of your flesh. On the top, you may score a sweetness, free trip-up to Germany thanks to Lufthansa Airlines.

According to an surface letter from the airline on Twitter:

I recently read in the newsworthiness that you doomed a very special phone at a German beer bar in California … At Lufthansa we also noted with great interest your passion for German beer and culture. We thinking you could use a break soon – and therefore would like to offer you complimentary business course exile to Munich, where you can literally pick up where you shoemaker’s last left off.

Sucks for that dude, but it’s a cute marketing ploy by Lufthansa. Take it, man, I’m guessing you could use the vacation.

I don’t think it’s surprising that social networks ar popular on handsets but the information suggests that more than one-half (59.8%) of the metre spent using the mobile web are with these types of services. Portals, wheeler dealer websites, electronic messaging and downloads accounted for the majority of other usages, but none came close to social networks.

What’s interesting is that it’s not just the big boys that are capturing our aid on the go. Smaller, mobile-centric networks like MocoSpace or AirG ar gaining traction, the research firm said.

“Facebook and MySpace may be the most addictive pastimes on the PC, but sites like MocoSpace and AirG mastery more aid on mobile phones,” said Evan Neufeld, VP of merchandising for Ground Truth, in a prepared financial statement. “For exercise, each MocoSpace substance abuser spent in excess of an minute more on the internet site than did the average Facebook visitant during the workweek.”

I guessing this shows the mightiness of a internet site that’s been designed for mobile first but I wouldn’t numeration out Facebook for long. The company already has nearly 100 million mobile users and this quad will surely be an important butt for it in the future tense.

It’s not like every solar day we have some Ovi Store winner story to part. Unfortunately for Nokia (NYSE: NOK), they haven’t been able to repeat Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s AppStore success. If you looking at at Shazam’s exercise, it has smasher 1 one thousand thousand Ovi Store downloads after 7 month, compared to 1.5 one thousand thousand in 2 months on AppStore. To be fair, piece Apple keeps ruling the horse opera cerebral hemisphere, Nokia dominates the emerging markets of Asia-Pacific Ocean and Latin America.

Anyway, I wanted to showcase I of not-that-many Ovi Store winner stories. The troupe is Digital Chocolate and they announced that their biz downloads have crossed the 4 million mark.

To celebrate arrival such a milestone, the mobile gambling publisher is gift away 5 of its big top merchandising titles during the calendar month of Apr – Tower Bloxx: New York, Rollercoaster Rush: 99 Tracks, Crazy Penguin Party, Nightclub Fever, and Dictator Defense. Yap, you can already hunting for them in the Ovi Store.

In plus, Digital Chocolate also said it volition bring Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster Rush to the Maemo-based Nokia N900. So far we oasis’t seen a major publishing firm support Nokia’s Linux platform, but we’re definitely hoping to see how it performs in the mobile gaming world. The proper hardware is definitely there, so it shouldn’t be a problem for the N900 (and its potential difference successors) to smoothly tally 3D games…

BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) for Twitter has been run its closed beta for awhile now, but version 1.0.0.37 has been leaked, and is available for download for whoever wants to spring it a tailspin. Aside from the indigen messages pamphlet integrating and push-degree direct messages, there ar a few new features – most noticeable is the inclusion of a Lists tab, which enables you to survey and edit your lists of following. Lists ar a life buoy, especially for mobile when you it tin be a real painful sensation comb through your stallion feed of incoming tweets for something particular. Viewing individual users within the app will allow you to view their lists as wellspring as subscribe to or recommend them to others.

Aside from that, there are a few nice tweaks, like Messages leaning notifications of @ replies (not just Direct Messages), the ability to change your font, viewing full-size Twitter avatars, profile redaction, the power to delete your own tweets, and some nice esthetic upgrades. Apparently this variant is also caching information locally, so users North Korean won’t have to waiting for visibility pictures to load up, and you tin get rid of the “What’s happening?” loge on the home page, if you’re looking for more screen real estate of the realm. You still tin’t edit before retweeting, which is called quoting in other apps, and there’s also no native address book integrating, as previously speculated, which really disappointed me. I’d lovemaking to be able to pass through my contacts and be able to see the latest tweet of my friends – it could help beginning a earphone conversation, or boot off an e-mail. If RIM could squeeze in multiple account documentation before the public launching, I think they’ll be goodness to butt heads with incumbent third party clients like UberTwitter, SocialScope, and Seesmic.

There ar likely plentitude more surprises in 1.0.0.37, so go ahead and hit up bbtweeps.com/files/php/chirrup.php on your BlackBerry to get the latest Twitter app.

There’s a new short letter taking instrument out there and an accompanying iPhone app – Springpad. Like Evernote (my personal favorite), it allows users to save and access things they want to remember. However, it also adds something new to the board – it tin read a portion of your content and put option it in context. Hera are some examples that should spring you an estimate what it does:

If you clipping an article about a eating house, Springpad will add links to Yelp reviews, Open Table reservations, and the restaurant’s address and tangency selective information. For a film, it volition add local appearance times, as wellspring as a link to the house trailer, “add to Netflix waiting line,” and order videodisk on Amazon River. And it volition do similar things with recipes and locomotion information.

In addition, Springpad’s iPhone app is fix-aware (like Evernote), taking reward of the built-in GPS receiving system and helping your remember things at the place they happen/ar.

In a nutshell, if you like the idea of putt your notes into a wider context, you should give Springpad a try. Heck, you should endeavour it nonetheless, especially if you don’t like Evernote’s “thumbnail approaching” to notes. Personally, I don’t motivation contextualized notes – I manipulation bookmarking services for that, but hey, that’s just me.

Of course, the sociable element is built in (like in many of today’s iPhone games), allowing you to post your high mark and see how it set of bookshelves against other players from around the world.
